Uçurtmam tellere takıldı is a Turkish documentary film about the story of a Kurdish family living in a village in Turkey, who are struggling to make ends meet. The family's eldest son Hawo becomes enamored with the art of kite-making and strives to build himself the best kite ever. However, due to poverty and discrimination, Hawo's kite gets entangled in the barbed wire fence that separates his village from the nearby city. The film explores themes of hope, love, and perseverance in the face of adversity, and sheds light on the social and political challenges faced by Turkey's Kurdish population. It was directed by Turkish filmmaker Ercan Kesal and released in 2013.
